Kid Cancer Crushers

September is pediatric cancer awareness month and today is the day that we normally hold our event. As you might have guessed by now, we will not be holding one this year and we want to explain the reasons why, both good and bad.

First the good - Ethan remains very healthy and had a blast this summer playing tournament baseball! We had to catch ourselves a couple of times watching him thrive and thinking back to just four years ago and wondering what the future would look like. Things were super busy with both kids playing ball this summer but they love it and we wouldn’t change a thing!

Next, the bad - part of the way through the summer, we needed to direct our attention towards both caring for and spending time with Amber’s mom who was battling melanoma. She ended up passing away late August at just 66 years old. We are heartbroken and she will be greatly missed!

Long story short, we just needed to focus on our family this summer BUT have every intention of doing something again in the future!
