The living and the dead were not separated, ancestors remained part of daily life, memory, guidance, and spiritual presence.

Present:
In Western culture, death is often treated as a rupture instead of a relationship.
The dead are removed from everyday life, and grief is expected to be private, quiet, and time-limited, rather than communal and ongoing.

What would change if we remembered death as connection, not disappearance?
