The Junkery

Hi everyone!

According to Facebook I haven’t posted anything in 105 days! Wow. I remember when I was showing up in this space several times a week, sharing thrift hauls and yapping in stories behind our check out counter at the shop. In some ways I miss that and in others, I don’t think about it much at all.

Life seems to be filled to the brim with other, worthy things right now. I don’t feel called to redo furniture and I haven’t tackled a DIY in quite some time. I’d rather write poetry or bake or watch my son play on the living room floor. It’s just where I’m at.

But, who knows what the future holds. As casually as it left, it could return the same way. Or in a new form I don’t know quite yet.

I’ve debated deactivating this account so people aren’t misled about my commitments here these days. But, for now, just wanted to share that:

1. We no longer have a retail space so you won’t find us in downtown Waverly. This has been the case since December 2023 🤪

2. We aren’t taking on any furniture consults right now. That may change this summer.

3. We hope you keep shopping locally and small as much as possible. It’s hard to make things work for many these days and they need all the support you can give.

Holding space ✨

Hi everyone! It’s been a quiet 2024 for the Junkery and that was just what we were hoping for ❤️

If you’re like, “What are they even doing now?” Great question. I think we are still figuring that out, too. Not having a retail space has been a nice breather and reset for us to figure out what we want the future of The Junkery to be.

BUT, for now, I did want you to know that you can still find our thrifted and vintage goods at Vintage Farmgirl as a consignor at our old shop space in Waverly.

We also have room for 1 Artist’s Choice custom order yet this summer so reach out if you want me to redo a piece for ya. I’m saving most of my furniture and painting energy for our nursery and basement projects this summer!

Otherwise, our goal is a slow, 1990s summer with some house projects and prepping for boy number 2 at the end of the summer 👦🏼👶🏼
