UGA Extension Ware County/4-H

✈️🚂🚗 Planes, Trains & Automobiles was a huge hit with our students today—possibly even more so with our adults!

Our 4-H'ers enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at transportation right here in Waycross. The day began with a visit to the Waycross-Ware County Airport, where students learned what it takes to become a pilot, how airplanes are fueled on the tarmac, the purpose of ground power units, and much more. A special thank you to Adam, Chris and Luke for sharing their knowledge and giving our students an inside look at airport operations.

Next, the group visited the train viewing platform in downtown Waycross, where they explored the caboose and learned more about the important role rail transportation plays in our community.

After lunch, we wrapped up the day with a tour of Robbie Roberson Ford. Students learned about the car-buying process, vehicle maintenance, and what it takes to keep those sweet rides running smoothly!

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible and gave our students a unique behind-the-scenes look at businesses and industries located right here in Waycross. Opportunities like these help connect our students to real-world careers and experiences!
