Thank you to all who participated. We are planning on doing more of these contests. Some will be on local geography, maybe even some on tree species.
This mound of rocks was built by Albert Gallatin Walker (1807-1882) on July 8, 1854. Walker was at the time Deputy Surveyor of Robertson County. What is now Parker County was not established until December 1855. Walker was an interesting character and a well-known figure in the early history of Dallas Fort Worth.
