CrossFit Clean Slate

Closing the doors at CrossFit Clean Slate is not just about emptying the space and turning off the lights.
It’s about saying goodbye to early mornings filled with nervous first-timers, late nights after “just one more lift,” and whiteboards covered in dry erase dust, chalk, sweat, and stubborn PR attempts.

This week, I closed this chapter with a full heart.
This space was never just a gym. It was where strangers walked in unsure and walked out stronger — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. It was where we celebrated first pull-ups like championships and treated every personal record like a world record. It was where burpees were hated, but no one ever faced them alone.
What started as coaching workouts became something much deeper. Somewhere between the warm-ups and the cooldowns, friendships were built. In the middle of partner WODs and team competitions, walls came down.

Through injuries, setbacks, victories, and life changes, we showed up for each other — not just as athletes, but as humans. You trusted me to coach you through some of your toughest physical challenges. But what I’ll always cherish most are the conversations before class, the laughs after brutal metcons, the quiet check-ins when life felt heavier than the barbell. The gym walls celebrated people meeting their soul mates, engagements, weddings and babies. We supported members through illnesses and raised money for important causes. We supported Move to Heal which you all know that sobriety, recovery and support is a foundational belief of my existence. We adopted families each year through Coach Colleen’s efforts.

Bottom line. This gym gave me more than I could have ever given it. It gave me purpose. It gave me perspective. It gave me a family I didn’t know I needed.
To every member who walked through those doors: thank you. Thank you for the sweat, the grit, the vulnerability, the encouragement, and the belief. Thank you for letting me be part of your journey. Thank you for becoming more than clients — for becoming lifelong friends.
While this chapter is closing, what we built doesn’t disappear. The strength, the confidence, the resilience — that lives on in every one of you. And so does the bond we created together.
Gyms are made of walls and equipment. But communities are made of people.
And we built something special.
Forever grateful for each of you and your families, and your belief in me. I love you all.

Holiday schedule for tomorrow, normal AM classes and last class will be 3:30 PM.
