🚨 Last call! 🚨

Our remote Feeding Group for Caregivers starts in just over a week, and we have a few spots left!

If mealtimes have become stressful, confusing, or just plain exhausting, this group is for you. You'll walk away with practical strategies, a better understanding of WHY feeding can be so challenging, and a chance to ask questions and connect with other caregivers who are in a similar season.

Over the four weeks, we'll cover things like:

✨ The differences between ARFID, PFD, and picky eating
✨ Sensory processing and interoception
✨ Strategies for introducing new foods
✨ Food jags and nutritional concerns
✨ Co-regulation and creating a more positive mealtime environment
✨ Supporting yourself as a caregiver
✨ Advocacy, the "just right challenge," and carrying strategies into everyday life

Plus, every session includes time for discussion, questions, and problem-solving together.

If you've been thinking about signing up, this is your reminder! We'd love to have you join us.

πŸ”— Register today before the limited remaining spots are gone.

πŸŽ† Happy Fourth of July! πŸŽ† The Boston Ability Center is closed today to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends. We'll be back in action on Monday, July 6th.

Many of us eagerly anticipate today's festivities - the colorful fireworks, the delicious barbecues, and the joyous gatherings with friends and family. For some individuals, however - particularly those with sensory sensitivities - the Fourth of July can be overwhelming and distressing due to the loud noises, bright lights, and crowded spaces associated with the celebrations. Visit our blog for strategies to create a more inclusive and enjoyable holiday for all!

πŸ“š Book of the Month: Disability Visibility by Alice Wong

✨ Did you know that the first Disability Pride Day was celebrated in Boston in 1990 to mark the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)? It officially expanded into a month-long celebration in July 2015 to honor the 25th anniversary of the landmark legislation.

At the Boston Ability Center, we believe that people with lived experience should be at the center of conversations about accessibility, inclusion, and support.

Disability Visibility is a collection of first-person essays from disabled writers, advocates, and community members that explores identity, accessibility, stigma, joy, and what meaningful inclusion can actually look like.

It challenges assumptions, broadens perspective, and reminds us that disability really isn't something to "fix" - it's part of human diversity. Every person deserves to be valued as they are.

As clinicians, continuing to learn from disabled voices helps us grow into better listeners, better advocates, and all-around better partners for the children and families we work with.

Have you read this book? Do you have a book that's changed the way you think about disability, neurodiversity, or inclusion? Drop it below ⬇️
