As we gather with family and friends to enjoy parades, picnics, and fireworks, we're reminded that Chester County played a pivotal role in the story of American independence. Our landscapes, historic places, and communities continue to preserve and tell that story today - 250 years later.

We wish you all a safe, happy, and memorable Independence Day!

And while this is a monumental year for the entire country, we are also kicking off our yearlong celebration - next year is a very special year for Chester County! In 2027, the Chester County America250 Commission (Chesco250) will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the 1777 Philadelphia Campaign of the American Revolution—a defining series of events that unfolded across Chester County and changed the course of the war. Join us in the kick off for a year to remember as we celebrate and commemorate America 250 in Chester County in 2027. Stay tuned!

With the Fourth of July this weekend, we're taking this to recognize the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. 🇺🇸

Reminder! Chester County 2020 is accepting nominations for exemplary candidates who model the goals of in the categories of: person or organization; project (land development, preservation, or public improvement); and plan.
