17 years ago, it was the day after my birthday, 8 years old, we lived right next to DFAS Building One where my dad was at work (he's a 1st SGT), mom picked me up in the middle of the day, excited I thought we were going somewhere fun, until she kept driving in the opposite direction of home, she said a terrible thing has happened in new york and Building One is next... My dad is still alive but I can only imagine the fear and pain of those in new york.
