SPIRIT ELEVATOR LIVE AT STRANGECREEK 2026!!

🔼 The Spirit Elevator acoustic stage will be up and running every night starting at about 11pm, right after the main stage music ends. We'll be playing acoustic music with friends, and making revelry and merriment till 3am, Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sunday nights.

I start the night off with a few of my tunes to get the ball rolling, then we invite musicians and singers of all types to play songs together as the evening unfolds.
Sometimes musicians want to get up and play a solo original song, sometimes duos or bands show up and share a couple songs they have prepared, and sometimes a comedian or storyteller will get up and do 5-10 minute set.
Other times, we assemble a small group of versatile musicians who meet for the first time to play. We come up with a common song with simple enough chord changes, then briefly talk through the chord changes and arrangement so all musicians are on the same page before we play the song. We always make sure everyone can hear each other and themselves so we can really interact musically and play off of each other. This kind of spontaneous magic is my favorite, and this is what the Spirit Elevator is really all about!
I've met so many great friends, musicians, and music lovers of all kinds over the years by showing up with my upright bass and a friendly attitude. Many years ago (2010-2014 or so) at StrangeCreek/Wormtown; I used to always bring my bass down to the creek at night, or to the campfire in the morning to meet musicians and play songs together. Around 2015 or so, we started gathering across from the Artist Pavillion, playing songs and singing all night under a small tarp with no electricity. Finally, after 2020 we got the green light from Mark and Debbie to make our gathering an official Wormtown stage, and it's just been so cool to see the evolution.
So once again, I'm really looking forward to another amazing StrangeCreek Weekend of making new friends, and meeting up with old, at our Spirit Elevator, located right next to the Artist Pavillion. Please stop by any night to enjoy the music, hang out, or maybe to play a song or two.
