Real Estate Redesigned

A great vacation but wow were we lucky! What a stressful event. Our plan was to visit Olbia, at the northern end of Sardinia, for a few days. The morning of our flight to Olbia, we heard they had high winds and landing might be tough. Unfortunately, the flight that landed before us lost control, crashed onto the runway and into a house! Fortunately, everyone was okay but the airport was immediately shut down. We were diverted to Cagliari (a 3 hour car drive away.) We all sat on the runway for hours, not sure if we would fly to Olbia. At 6 PM we were told no flights and maybe none the following day. Now stranded in Cagliari, tired and stressed, the only option was to drive for 3 hours! We decided to find a way to stay in this town we had never heard of. Still sitting in the airport, trying to find a hotel, all were booked or could only give us one night…except for one. Casa Clat. They had a last minute cancellation. It was “a very lucky stab in the dark.” Words can’t describe how fabulous this boutique hotel is. It turned out to be one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed in! A stunning 19th century structure that took 3 years to renovate to perfection! The attention to detail is beyond! The friendliest staff, excellent service and Michelin quality kitchen…the very best. We settled into a really cool suite filled with art books and a balcony overlooking their gardens. Magical! We had a blast! Cagliari is a vibrant coastal city with marinas, beaches, lots to do, see and taste. If Sardinia is ever in your plans, be sure to visit Cagliari. Stay if you can and give my❤️ best to Ricardo, Sara and their crew!
