Congratulations to all our team participants at today’s championship games. Each team fought hard and should be proud of their commitment and the earning their placement, competing in the championship game. Taking home the big 1st place win for each division are the East Hartford Hornets C-Team, North Brandford Thunder Birds B&A-Team.

On behalf of the CTYFL executive board members, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the young athlete in this photo. B-team, East Hartford Hornet, JJ Haughton came onto the field during yesterday’s championship game and showed his teammates, opponents, coaches, spectators and even our Executive board what a true athlete and exceptional sportsmanship looks like. JJ quickly stood out as much more than just a well rounded athlete. Play after play, he continued to display attributes of a true leader as he made every effort to both see and acknowledge the other athletes regardless of the jersey. He continuously reached out a hand to help them up and pat them on the back for their efforts. JJ, if your team or family or you are reading this, continue to be this amazing athlete, becuase you are the prime example of what others should strive to be. Hard working, dedicated, compassionate and most of all, your sportsmanship which is unparalleled.
