Summer is in full swing, but we still love celebrating our students! Way to go Owls!

Hanmer School proudly presents the Perfect Attendance Award Winners for the 2025-2026 school year! These students were present for each and every school day this school year. This is a challenging feat and speaks to their commitment to school and the support of their families.

Happy Summer, everyone! While our students had their last day of school on Monday, our teachers are now wrapping up the school year on Tuesday and Wednesday with Professional Development, in preparation for the upcoming 2026 - 2027 school year!

In these photos, teachers are engaging in a Professional Development session entitled "Looking Ahead: Recommitting to Thinking Classrooms, Establishing Classroom Culture in Unit 1." In this Professional Development session, teachers from across five different grade levels had the opportunity to collaborate and share ideas and strategies for how best to incorporate Building Thinking Classrooms strategies into their classrooms. The sharing of ideas across the district was so incredibly helpful. These strategies can be used across all content areas, and across all grade levels. The teachers engaged with a math word problem to see how the strategies feel from the students' perspective. By the end of the session, our teachers left with some common grade level plans for introducing thinking classroom norms and practices through lessons within the first units of the upcoming school year.

We are already planning and preparing for the upcoming 2026 - 2027 school year!
