Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a reminder of the sacrifice, courage, and selflessness of those who never made it home and the families who carry that loss every day.

Grateful for the freedoms we have because of their service and sacrifice.

Honestly, this is one of my favorite parts of the job. A little drive time, a good playlist, and knowing there is a sweet dog waiting for their adjustment.

“Just getting old” is not always the whole story.

Yes, age matters.

But limping, stiffness, hesitation, weakness, slipping, or not wanting to do normal activities should not automatically be dismissed as age.

Sometimes older dogs and horses need more support, not less.

Sometimes there are mobility changes, compensation patterns, joint restrictions, muscle tension, or other issues that may be contributing to how they move and feel.

Aging may be part of the picture.

But it does not mean there is nothing we can do to help support comfort and quality of life.

Your older animal still deserves to be evaluated, supported, and cared for as a whole being.
