Form check for a single arm lat pull down.

Bad:
Too much rotation, trunk is not stable, just too much unnecessary movement overall.

Good:
Start the pulling movement by pulling the scapula down before you bend your elbow (pull with your armpit).
Brace with another hand to prevent trunk rotation.
Do not twist, rotate, and do not restrict the shoulder blade movement.

Better:
If the machine (the pad part) holds your legs securely and if you can brace fully with another hand turn your body a little so you can pull from across of your body.
It will allow for a greater lat stretch. But keep your trunk stable. DO NOT TWIST with every rep.
The other option would be to keep yourself facing forward (like in the GOOD option) but sliding a little bit to a side so you can pull slightly from across your body.

The BETTER option only works if your legs are secured fully by a pad and your trunk is not moving.
