¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Today, I had the privilege of touring Casa Central, and I left feeling deeply moved and inspired. While I’ve always known, through my family’s story, how much Casa Central meant to us when we arrived from Cuba in 1967, seeing it firsthand brought everything full circle in a way I can hardly put into words.
It gave me a profound appreciation for my mother’s memories and the gratitude she carried for the support we received during such a difficult time. My family had lost everything, yet Casa Central helped my parents find not just resources, but a sense of belonging, dignity, and hope. We were truly blessed, and it is so powerful to see that same blessing continue to touch the lives of so many families today.
Thank you, Laura Reilly and Martin R. Castro, for taking the time to share this experience with me and for showing, so beautifully, how Casa Central continues to uplift and restore families just like mine.
