The Lunch Box

Just reminding everyone we will not be open. thank you all for your support but the time has come to make retirement, retirement.

First, we want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has come to try our food. We have made the decision to close the Lunch Box food trailer. We have enjoyed it especially when we were busy but, there are other things we would prefer to do in retirement. Our intent is to continue to work catered and small-scale events but not the day-to-day operations. Anyone interested in purchasing the food trailer let me know. Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

Thank you to everyone who came out to get lunch today we sold out of the Goulash but will make more for next Thursday. Tomorrows special is Chicken Spaghetti. Chicken spaghetti likely emerged in the 1930s–1940s as a thrifty casserole using leftover chicken, canned soup, and pasta. In East Texas, chicken spaghetti is as iconic as brisket or chili and has been a school cafeteria delight for decades. It’s often passed down through generations without a written recipe—just memory and taste. We have written our recipe down and are not using leftovers. Todays Special is American Goulash with salad of course we will also have our paninis clubs and hot dogs. Come join us in White Oak beside the Dairy Queen.

It was a good Wing Day today looking forward to tomorrows American Goulash. if you don't know about American Goulash it originated in the United States in the 1910's as an Americanized version of Hungarian goulash, substituting beef chunks with ground beef and potatoes with noodles. American goulash is a comfort food that has been a staple during hard times such as the Dust bowl and Great Depression. Come get Lunch tomorrow at the Lunch Box beside the Dairy Queen in White Oak where we are serving Paninis, Cub sandwiches, Hotdogs and on Thursday American Goulash.

Tomorrow is our first Wing Day Thats right the special of the day will be chicken wings. with the following sauces BBQ, Buffalo, Honey Mustard, Ranch, and Texas Pete. Rest of the week Thursday American goulash, Friday Chicken spaghetti.
