Flathead K9 Foundation

What a whirlwind of a summer it has been!!

At the beginning of June, our tracking/trailing and area teams certified with NAPWDA master trainer Travis Walthall.

That busy week was followed by a tracking course with Noz with a total of 8 K9 and handler teams.

The end of the month was celebrated by a successful sweep of ALL the human remains K9 teams passing their certifications with Noz as well.

As with any intense testing period - dogs and handlers enjoyed some time off - but were back at it again the following weekend to keep up on the skills they learned during testing and courses to help keep the residents and visitors of the Flathead Valley safe!

Thank you to the wonderful master trainers with NAPWDA who have continued to invest their time and energy in our incredible teams.

Our next event is another pint night at Big Mountain Ciderworks on August 27th - we will post up to that with all the good raffles, etc!

The Flathead K9 Foundation via a very generous donor sponsored continued tracking bliss into another week of courses with the incredible Robert Noziska and Sarah Boese with National Canine Facility.

Two courses of three days, each with four K9 teams spent many hours in the field learning and putting in play new techniques with their tracking partners. Each team grew leaps and bounds with each repetition and by the last track on the last day, it had come together for everyone!

Training opportunities like this one help shape the success of our K9 teams here in the valley, and promote the public safety that we strive to protect for our residents and visitors. Happy tracking!
