It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the City of Whitney, TX, and Whitney Fire Department is saying goodbye to one of their own. Daniel Potts passed after experiencing a medical emergency while responding to a Structure Fire that occurred early this morning. Dan has been a long-time Fire-Fighter and most recently took the position of Safety Officer for the department. The City and the Fire Department pray for the peace of Jesus’ love for Dan's Family and Friends, giving them the ability to work through these difficult days.

The fire department will work to keep everyone informed as things progress. Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home will be working with the family, and they will be the place for updates.
