Our first Summer Reading event is here, and we are so excited to welcome Lake Whitney State Park as our special presenter!

Join us as we begin our 2026 Summer Reading adventure, “Unearth a Story,” with a fun and educational program celebrating nature, discovery, and the great outdoors.

Bring the family, bring your curiosity, and get ready to dig into summer fun!

☀️ Summer Reading fun starts here!

☀️ Summer is perfect for reading and exploring Texas! Log those minutes and keep moving toward 2,500.

🗓 January 1 – December 31, 2026
⏱ Goal: Log 2,500 minutes (that’s about 41.6 hours) of:
Reading/Texas state park visits/Service or volunteer activities
This challenge is part of the national America250: America Gives initiative and is a great way to learn, explore, and give back.

🎉 Finish the challenge and you’re eligible to receive a special certificate signed by Governor Greg Abbott, available through your public or school library.

🗺 Track your progress using the “Mosey Along the Reading Trail” Reading Log Map, or any reading log method that works for you.
Start small. Stay consistent. Celebrate 250 years by investing your time in learning, service, and community!
