In 2019, after the passing of beloved Coyote soccer player Ramon “LG” Gonzalez, the Coyote Soccer Booster Club introduced a $500 scholarship in his memory.
Since Old High closed in 2024, it was decided to turn over the scholarship to the WFISD Foundation so LG’s memory would continue on for generations to come. The scholarship recipient must be a male soccer player from either of the WFISD high schools who plans to attend a university or trade school.
Tuesday, May 12th, the WFISD Foundation presented the Ramon “LG” Gonzalez Memorial Scholarship to Jackson Bohannon from Memorial High School. Jackson will continue his education at Texas Christian University. Congratulations, Jackson!
