🐾 Meet Saoirse 🖤 1 year old Female German Shepherd Mix (small build)

Saoirse is back with Texas Pit Crew and searching for the right forever home — one that understands her breed, her needs, and just how special she truly is.

This stunning girl is incredibly smart, loyal, athletic, and eager to bond deeply with her people. Like many young German Shepherds, Saoirse is still very much in her “teenage phase,” which means she needs structure, consistency, and continued training to help her become the amazing companion we know she can be.

Saoirse is fully house trained and crate trained, and she thrives in an active home where she can stay mentally and physically engaged. She loves being outside, learning new things, and spending time with her humans. She absolutely loves going on walks and exploring the neighborhood with her people.

She does well with dogs her size or larger, but after an incident involving a small dog in a previous home, she cannot be placed with small dogs or cats. Because of her age, energy level, and shepherd tendencies, she also needs a home with older or dog-savvy children only.

Saoirse can be cautious when meeting new people and has a big shepherd bark that can sound intimidating at first — but once she feels safe, she warms up quickly and forms strong attachments. She will need several introductions to new people, as she takes time to build trust and feel comfortable. During training, she communicates clearly when she’s uncomfortable or overwhelmed, but she recovers well and continues trying with patience and guidance.

She’s also a survivor. Saoirse underwent major surgery after being hit by a car, requiring reconstruction of her hip. She has healed beautifully and lives a happy, active life, but she will need to remain on Dasuquin daily for lifelong joint support. She is fully vetted and will be spayed once fully developed.

Because Saoirse is still growing and learning, we are requiring an experienced German Shepherd home committed to continuing her training and providing the leadership she needs to succeed.

Her $300 adoption fee includes SIX one-on-one training sessions with the professional trainer she and her foster have already been working with. These sessions are intended to help Saoirse and her future family build trust, communication, and a strong lifelong bond together.
