Today's haul... Mid 1970s Slingerlands in black chrome. 3-ply shells w/rings, clear interiors.
14x24 bass drum (two sets of spurs)
16x18 floor tom (four legs, but missing resonant head, rim, & rods)
12x14 concert tom
All in at least 8/10 condition.
As for a good cleaning/polishing, I'll have to put them on the back burner for a while as I have other projects in front of them!
But... a deal I just couldn't pass up! :)

Today's find... 1970s Tama Imperialstar concert tom kit w/Zildjian cymbals. This was just a 20 minute drive!

Finally finished with the refurb!
I bought these thinking they'd be a rewrap project, but thanks to my very talented teenage granddaughter, the original wrap has been saved... with the splits and bad seams successfully addressed!
(See my January 28 post on this page for "before" pics!)

DUCK TAPE is NEVER a drummer's friend. NEVER.
A dose of rubbing alcohol and Goo-Gone and a toothbrush cleaned it up... but WHY would anyone do this in the first place? Pure stupidity!

Well, I had posted about a month ago that I hoped to have this set done by the end of the year... but ended up making it a priority!
I'm still needing a WFG (or FG) 16x18 floor tom, but after setting this thing up without it, I'm honestly wondering why I would need it? 🙂
Built all from orphans I had obtained throughout the last several years, all with problems (of one form or another) and needing rewrapped. So, here's the set, wrapped in Jammin' Sams' "Tropical Blue:"
14x22 WFG bass drum
14x18 FG bass drum (my regular gigging drum!)
16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8, & 6 FG concert toms
5.5x14 COB Jupiter snare drum
Looks like with this setup I need to find some sort of boom stand for the 8 & 6 concert toms. I've probably got something that will work around here.
The cymbals are the same set of AZildjians I've used since a kid back in the early 70s: 20 ride, 18, 16, 14 crash, + 15" hats (I've also got a 8 splash but didn't get it out).
The stands and hardware are all Pearl (various generations) except the base of the clip mount stand for the small CTs (sorry, I know some would consider it sacrilegious, but it's a TAMA).
ALSO... Please forgive my "hodge-podge" of head choices. I put on them what I had available. Eventually I'll get around to purchasing Remo CS black dots for all of the toms (which was OEM for these at least in the mid-to-late 70s). I've also considered buying new black Evans Hydraulics (I do like the sound on these FG CT's, and my wife likes the black heads with the blue drums!).
