Meg Tilma just WON the Kansas Women's Amateur at Wichita Country Club, and this win has SERIOUS local roots! A former Kapaun Mt. Carmel standout (2x Class 5A state champ!) who later played for Classical before heading off to Oklahoma, Meg came back home and delivered back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 to seal the title by one stroke. 🔥

And get this: she's now the THIRD woman in her family to win this exact tournament, joining her mom Cathy (4x champion!) and sister Kate (2020 champ!) on the trophy!

From 22 at-bats to the MLB Draft. ⚾🎉

Wichita native Owen Clyne, a 2022 Maize South grad, was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 15th round (No. 459 overall) of the MLB Draft, becoming the first player in Maize South history to be drafted!

His path wasn't easy. Clyne got just 22 at-bats his freshman year at Iowa Western and hit .136. Instead of letting it end his career, he used it as fuel — transferring to Barton Community College and hitting .401, then earning a shot at George Mason, where he took over at shortstop and became a two-year starter, team captain, and Brooks Wallace Award semifinalist (given to the nation's top college shortstop).

Owen grew up watching the Wichita Wranglers and Wingnuts and playing in the NBC World Series right here in Wichita, and that same love for the game just carried him to professional baseball.
