From an ASUN program that's putting teams on notice, meet Buster Posey Finalist, Jon Embury!

The FGCU sophomore is one of just three ASUN players ever to reach the finalist stage of the Buster Posey Award, and he earned it by doing things you simply can't ignore.

He led the entire conference in RBIs (60) and RBIs per game, while his 144 total bases ranked 48th nationally and first in the ASUN. His arm behind the plate was equally as elite, throwing a grand total of 20 runners out who were attempting to steal.

Three state football championships. Six state baseball championships. But walk up to Coach Mike Gehrer and ask him about his favorite accomplishment — he'll tell you it's helping co-found the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award right here in Wichita. For Coach Gehrer, it’s always been about creating opportunities for others. That’s who he is.

Congratulations to the boys track and field team for winning the 5A Regional Championship! The girls finished in second. Individual champions are Taylor Barringer in 400/800, Ava Claassen in 1600/3200, Caleb Coffey in 100, Mason Collins in javelin, Daniel Enriquez in 800/1600/3200, Dominic Grabendike in 110 hurdles, Ellie Rambo in pole vault, Lucian Winters in 400, boys 4x4 (Winters, Fleming, Coffey, Sloan), girls 4x8 (Bird, Marietta, Nye, Claassen).
