Williams Community Forest Project
Williams Community Forest Project (WCFP) Williams, Oregon is a small community nestled in a valley surrounded by 30,000 acres of forested lands.
Dear WCFP supporters ,
🌳🌲🌱✌🏽💙🩵
We have another fun work party planned for Sat. June 13th. Meet at the. Williams Grange at 10: 00 am
This month we are continuing where we left off w**d whacking on the Layton Ditch Trail going south.
Our goal is to eliminate as much of the poison oak as possible on the trail and remove any fallen trees obstructing the trail.
We have w**d whackers and bring yours if it's a favorite.
see you there

Read this article about a recently published paper in the peer-reviewed journal, Biological Conservation called "Ecological trade-offs of mechanical thinning in temperate forests"
"We are not “anti-thinning,” as our research shows there are benefits of thinning under certain conditions. However, those conditions are few and far between, with costs (ecological and financial) a function of treatment intensity, type of removals, scale, and context."

Busting Through the Hype and Politics of Forest Thinning • The Revelator Forest managers conduct hundreds of thousands of acres of forest “thinning” projects annually in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and elsewhere, resulting in substantial ecological and financial costs.
