Meet Mrs. Bass, our 5th Grade ELA teacher! With 15 years of teaching experience and 6 years at CCS, she loves being part of the CCS family, working alongside amazing coworkers, and helping students learn who Jesus is and how they can be His hands and feet each day.

This summer, she’s looking forward to beach trips, a family vacation to Lake Gaston, and spending time with family and friends. As she begins her very first year teaching 5th grade, she’s excited to reconnect with many students she taught in 2nd grade and see how much they’ve grown. Some her favorites include Alanis, chocolate, Sour Patch Kids, Mexican food, Chick-fil-A, and hibachi. You can also find her shopping on Amazon or browsing Target and Marshalls.

Meet Mrs. Johnson, our Elementary PE teacher! For the past 3 years at CCS, she has loved encouraging students and watching them succeed. She considers every student a blessing and loves seeing their confidence grow. Her advice to incoming students is simple: “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you! Never give up on yourself and always have fun!”

This summer, she's looking forward to lots of pool time, a trip to Ohio, parasailing in Myrtle Beach, and a visit to Tennessee. When she’s not teaching, you can find her enjoying Lindor truffles, grabbing a meal at El Tap or Zaxby’s, or browsing the aisles of Hobby Lobby and Belk. We’re so thankful for the energy, encouragement, and heart she brings to CCS each day!

Meet Mrs. Burnette! With 18 years of teaching experience and 13 years at CCS, she brings a passion for learning and a heart for students to the classroom. AIG certified, her favorite part of teaching is the special bond formed with students along the way. This summer, she plans to keep her toes in the sand as much as possible! Her advice to incoming students? “Put God at the center of everything you do!!!” You can usually find her fueled by coffee and mega teas, grabbing Chick-fil-A, or shopping at her favorite local boutiques.
