Student Spotlight!

Kyril Bouck, SCAA piano student of Sandra Snodgrass, won first place in the instrumental division in the local Lions Club Bland Music Competition, and then went on to compete at the regional level.

Congratulations, Kyril!

The Lions of Virginia Bland Music Competition is named after James Bland who wrote “Carry Me Back to Old Virginny”. The foundation's mission is to promote cultural and educational opportunities for musically talented youth in Virginia through annual music competitions. These contests, open to both vocalists and instrumentalists, commence at the local club level and progress through district and regional stages, culminating in a state-level competition. Each year, the foundation awards over $25,000 in scholarships and cash prizes to support the musical education of young artists.
