Legacy Grove

Maggie has made the decision to move on to other things, and we first want to thank her for all that she has done and the many hours she put in to making Legacy Grove Park the best that she possibly could!

This means we are hiring!

We are looking for a reliable, part-time park helper to keep our park clean, safe, and beautiful.

Daily tasks include:
- Cleaning and caring for the park: Picking up trash, emptying garbage cans, and keeping the playground and dog park areas looking clean and neat.
- Dog park upkeep: Emptying pet waste bins, refilling waste bag stations, and checking that water bowls are clean and working.
- Landscape maintenance: Helping plant flowers, pulling weeds, and repairing worn-out grass or mulch areas.
- Safety checks: Looking at playground equipment, walking paths, and dog park fences to make sure nothing is broken, loose, or dangerous.
- Helping visitors: Answering simple questions from people visiting the park and helping out during volunteer days.

Occasional tasks include:
- Event Support: Setting up tents, tables, and other event support.

Requirements:
You must be able to work outside in the heat or rain, stand for a long time, and lift 50 pounds. You should know how to use basic garden tools. You must be comfortable working around dogs of all sizes, able to follow rules, and polite to visitors. You must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.

What We Offer:
This is a fun outdoor job where you can learn about nature and help your community.

Pay: $14.00 / hr, approx. 15 hours per week.

The Teen Sculpture Intensive had an incredible first meeting at the Josephine Sculpture Park in Frankfort! Ten teens started our program with get-to-know-yous, a tour led by Park employee Megan, tried out a new medium (spray paint!), lunch at the park, and a final reflection at the Paul Sawyier Public Library. We can't wait to see what these kids do next!

New take home project is on the Art Box at the Learning Garden! A science experiment for kids (or curious adults!). This kit comes with a foam airplane, different weights, and a zine to guide you through the scientific method.

This projects counts towards your Wild Wonders loyalty card!

A window of perfect weather for the rescheduled 5th Annual Legacy Nights presented by Traditional Bank! We've got a New Orleans theme going on with Yellow Dog Jazz Band playing and a new food truck New Orleans Cafe! Tuesday, June 23rd, Music starts at 5:30 with Hannah Wheeler opening! Help us spread the word!
