Bumbleroot is excited to announce that we are a participating farm in the Windham Book and Food Mobile. This incredible program, brought you by and Age-Friendly Windham, delivers free books and food to anyone who stops by! Thank you to the incredible organizers of this program. We are so honored to be able to provide our local, organic produce to the folks of Windham! ☀️

The Windham Public Library and Age-Friendly Windham are pleased to announce they have received a grant from the Maine Community Foundation for a Book and Food Mobile this summer. In conjunction with RSU14 and Windham Parks and Recreation, a vehicle will visit four stops in Windham on Thursdays in July and August to deliver free food and books for anyone who visits the stop.

Stops include the South Windham Fire Station, the East Windham Fire Station, the Public Library, and Unity Gardens, an AVESTA senior housing facility. Both Library Director Jennifer Wood and Children’s Librarian Samantha Cote say that this has been their dream for a while, and they are looking forward to trying a new way to support the Windham Community.

Food will be sourced from the food pantry, local farmstands, the community garden, and grocery stores. Books will be provided from donations and Scholastic Literacy Partnerships.

RSU 14 Budget Vote will take place on Tuesday, June 9.

The polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. Ballots can be cast at Jordan Small Middle School and Windham High School.
