Justice For Colton
Justice for Colton advocates for stronger EMS training and accountability so no family suffers a tragedy like his.
Ever wonder why you'll see so much purple and teal on the Justice for Colton page? This short video explains the special meaning behind those colors. 💜

Many people hesitate to help at the scene of an emergency because they're afraid of getting into legal trouble. North Carolina's Good Samaritan Law was created to encourage people to provide reasonable emergency assistance in good faith.
If you're the first person on the scene, call 911, describe exactly what you see and hear, and don't be afraid to ask the dispatcher, "What can I do until EMS arrives?" You are the dispatcher's eyes and ears, and those first few minutes can matter.
Not in North Carolina? Every state has some form of a Good Samaritan law, although the protections vary. Take a few minutes to learn the law where you live - you never know when you may have the opportunity to help save a life.

The last of this year's peaches became a fresh peach smoothie today. 🍑
We're still picking a handful of blackberries every day, too.
Two peach trees, two blueberry bushes, and two blackberry bushes were planted in honor of my son, Colton. Watching them grow and produce fruit each year is one of the many ways I continue to honor his life.
Colton's life was so much bigger than the tragedy of August 2, 2022. He was loved beyond words, and I honor him in countless ways every single day.
This little harvest is one of them. 💙

REWARDED FOR DERELICTION OF DUTY
Look at these photos from official community and agency websites. These are the faces of the individuals who stood over my son Colton on August 2, 2022, and watched him suffocate.
Two body cam videos were independently reviewed by a 25-year veteran paramedic expected to qualify as an expert witness.
What those bodycam videos show is a total horror story. The footage captures the crew denying Colton basic airway suctioning and medical oxygen for approximately 21 minutes from the time Wallburg FD arrived.
He started the call with a strong pulse and his pulse weakened down to a critical 30 beats per minute while they did absolutely nothing to save him. Even worse, after their gross negligence put his heart into cardiac arrest, they administered NO CPR. They stood there and let him slip away.
In what world does this equal a promotion? If a commercial pilot crashes a plane due to gross negligence caught on the flight recorder, they do not get promoted to airline manager. They lose their license and face criminal charges. Yet, in Davidson County, the paramedic in charge of this call was given a promotion by the EMS Director. Davidson County EMS actively rewarded a catastrophic failure caught on camera that cost a young man his life.
This is a terrifying breach of public trust. The camera does not lie. These individuals are a danger to our community, and their medical credentials must be permanently stripped by the state. Please SHARE this post. We are demanding that the state step in where the county failed.
Copy the email template in the comments below and send it directly to Chief Tom Mitchell at the North Carolina Office of EMS to demand they review the bodycam evidence and revoke these licenses immediately. Email: [email protected]
