We are honored to welcome award-winning and #1 bestselling author John Green to Winston-Salem as our Festival Opening Keynote!

Join us on Friday, September 25 at 7 pm to learn more about HOLLYWOOD, ENDING -- John Green's first novel in nearly a decade and his adult fiction debut. It follows two rising actors, Kai Laramie and Juniper Castillo, as they are cast in a buzzy biopic about Andy Warhol and find their lives changing in exciting and unsettling ways as the film brings them fame, attention and each other. Told through dual points of view and set against the dawn of celebrity culture, the novel is a tender and funny examination of the tension between a public and a private life.

Tickets are $40 (plus taxes & fees) and include a pre-signed copy of the book. There will be no public signing or photo line at this event.

TUESDAY: THE CHEAT CODES TO WRITING A BOOK: DEMYSTIFYING THE AUTHOR JOURNEY.
Join us for an inspirational author talk and workshop led by Dr. Will Lewis! This event is perfect for industry leaders and thought leaders who are aspiring writers.

THURSDAY: PREVIEW PARTY FOR THE USED BOOK SALE
Join us at the preview party for early access to the book sale, and enjoy a glass of wine on us! Held at the former Piemont Music Center building on Broad St.
The preview sale is a ticketed event from 6 PM -7 PM, and opens to the general public from 7 PM to 8 PM.

FRIDAY:
SIP & STITCH at the bookstore. Bring your quilting, embroidery, knitting, or crocheting and join us at Bookmarks! You can bring a drink or grab one next door at Footnote. We'll have space for you to work on your current project and chat with others about what you've been reading & listening to.

GENERAL USED BOOK SALE at 212 N Broad St. The sale will run from 8 AM- 4:00 PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Shop used books at discounted prices and enjoy food & drinks from local food trucks.

Whether you've been in the trenches with the Wheel of Time series or only recently became interested in the fantasy genre, you can trust booksellers to have the best recommendations. At this Jump Into Genre event, you can hear from Bookmarks staff about:

🐲 Authors that are pillars of the fantasy genre (at least, according to us!)

⚜️ Emerging voices (authors who may be new to you)

⚔️ Genre crossovers (romantasy, fantastical mysteries, & more)

Plus, we'll have a dragon wing bookmark activity with supplies provided. Attendees can use watercolors to create a custom dragon wing design.

Tickets are $10 (plus taxes & fees) and include bookmark making materials and a 10% discount on your store purchase while at the event.

Jump Into Genre is a 3-part series taking place over the summer. Readers who attend at least 2 out of the 3 events will be entered to win a 3-book bundle featuring novels from a genre of their choice.
