Not every buyer is looking at a $400,000 home, and not every buyer is ready to purchase today.

But the bigger point is worth noting.

According to the Home Price Expectations Survey, experts still project home values to rise over the next five years. In this example, a $400,000 home could gain nearly $40,000 in equity by 2030.

That is why waiting for a major crash can be risky if you are already financially prepared to buy.

The market is not perfect. But it is still moving.
