Reid Christensen Holds ‘em Off to Grab Summer Sizzler $5000 at Sumter Speedway

Christensen had to fight off John Windham and Scott Cloninger throughout the 40 lap feature event. Windham and Cloninger traded the 2nd position on multiple occasions on restarts with Windham prevailing for 2nd at the checkers.

After merging times from both rounds of time trials Reid Christensen holds on to the top spot to get the Jason Waters Tuning Fast Time Award. The top 10 are locked in. 2 B-Mains coming up - 8 laps and taking 5. Then 4 provisionals plus the 𝙱𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛𝚜 𝙳𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙳𝚛𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚁𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚒𝚎 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚟𝚒𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕 for 25 starters.

31 of 36 cars took timed laps in Jason Waters Tuning Time Trials at Sumter Speedway for Round 1 of the Summer Sizzler.

Defending SCDRA Champion Reid Christensen topped the charts with a 17.561 second lap. Equity Homes Rookie of the Year contender Myles Pike timed in 2nd quick with a lap of 17.709 seconds. Scott Cloninger, Zack Slone and John Windham rounded out the top 5.

One more round of tume trials awaits these drivers tomorrow. The 10 fastest times will lock in to the 40 lap A-Main. A pair of B-Mains and a few provisionals will set the field of 25 cars.
