Dynamic Order

My organizing story truly kicked off in 2016, when a friend gifted me Marie Kondo's iconic book "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up". She said it reminded her of me, and as I devoured the book I could see why! What I had been doing for myself, friends, and family unofficially my entire life was an entire industry!! 🤩

It took me another 6 years to start Dynamic Order, but this screenshot of my dad's armoire from the summer of 2016 was so fun to find. I was home for the summer after I graduated from Clark University, and he let me have free rein to organize his t-shirts, hats, and small accessories. While my methods have evolved over the years, my passion for helping others find peace in their homes has only grown.

Home organizing is not a one-and-done event. There, I said it! Even professional organizers have to reevaluate systems and declutter periodically.

Today I spent some time in the cabinet above my fridge, which was full of way too many flower vases (I swear they breed in there), souvenir glasses from a wedding that is not a happy memory, a shelf I removed from a different cabinet, and some random Tupperware. After recycling or relocating several items, I have more room for paper towel storage for my household, and only a few items we use semi-regularly. Yay to less running up and down the stairs! The space is refreshed and the energy feels better 😌

I also sealed up our winter bedding in space bags and swapped my summer clothing in now that Massachusetts has finally decided to warm up! This seasonal swap is one of my favorite things to do to keep my closet streamlined and officially welcome the spring. It's also a fantastic opportunity to declutter anything I didn't wear over the winter.
