I loved this series for a while, but for one reason or another it stopped being fun. What started as something spastic and energetic slowly became more orderly. The compositions tightened up and the chaos that made the first ones exciting started to fade as the series found its rhythm.

This week I was thinking about why I started painting the Floaty Friends in the first place. It wasn’t about lining them up perfectly or keeping things balanced. It was about letting them pile up, overlap, and feel alive. So with this one I let it be chaotic again. More free spirited. Less controlled. And I’m happy to say, I think it’s working. Expect to see more of these soon.
