As with many of us, since Covid hit, I've had time to reconsider what I am interested in doing and how to accomplish that. I'll be shifting from weddings to corporate/college/business photo shoots. There are a variety of reasons for this, both practical (equipment for weddings is very costly...both to purchase AND to maintain/insure) and emotional (weddings are a mix of crazy dynamics...anxiety, family, and alcohol can be a trying combination).

I also want to do more carpentry related projects...for years, I've been tackling assorted house and yard projects and find the work to be rewarding in many ways. I like the problem solving aspect of home renovation projects, plus the exercise I get, by default. Also, the documentary photographer in me gets a kick out of taking photos as a project unfolds.

I'm not opposed to booking a few weddings here and there if it feels like the right fit, but it will not be something I actively seek out anymore.
