A raindrop dangles from a pink lady’s slipper orchid.

These beautiful orchids can only be found in acidic woodlands. They rely on a specific fungus in the ground to survive.

I was lucky enough to find a patch blooming along the edge of a hiking trail right after the rain had stopped on Monday.
