On Tuesday Standard Time with Tom Nutile, we’re going to enjoy the music of Cole Porter, one of the wittiest, most urbane of all Great American Songbook composers, and Fred Waring, the popular bandleader known as “the Man Who Taught America How to Sing.” Why? Well, June 9, the day of the show, is the day each was born.

Also, we're instituting a new feature on Tuesday Standard Time. Because our jazz fans tell us they love instrumentals, from 5 to 6 pm we're going to feature instrumentals only. What should we call it? We're undecided now. Should it be called Just Jazz? Jazz Happy Hour? Your Hour of Jazz? If you have a strong opinion on this, reach out to Tom at [email protected] and let him know! Tuesday Standard Time with Tom Nutile airs each Tuesday, 3-6 pm Eastern, here on WICN.

And don't worry, hardcore jazz fans, we play instrumentals all throughout the show. It's just that we're going instrumental-only from 5-6 pm.
