Hear inspiring stories and reflections on the impact he had on our chorus, our music, and our lives.
You may not know this, but descendants of Frederick Douglass will be in attendance for this special performance, along with Brian Story’s family to honor his incredible achievement.
It is such an honor to perform his work, and we believe his music will live on and impact generations for years to come. 🎶

Join the Worcester Chorus for the world premiere of FREDERICK: A Cantata on the Life of Frederick Douglass — a powerful new work honoring the life, voice, and legacy of Frederick Douglass.
This work is especially meaningful to our community, as it is the final composition of our late chorus member, Brian Story.
Inspired by Nkeiru Okoye’s Songs of Harriet Tubman, Brian’s cantata draws from Frederick Douglass’s own words to tell the story of his extraordinary life through music.
Brian Story was a gifted composer and cherished member of our chorus. This performance honors both Douglass’s legacy and Brian’s lasting impact on our community.
