I was pre-med in my undergraduate.
My mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at the start of my sophomore year of college, and her experience with what was then called CAM (complementary and alternative medicine) really changed my perspective on what I specifically wanted to do, so I changed course and ended up in acupuncture school. It's been over 20 years since I made this move, and I'm still finding moments of wonder and awe in acupuncture.
I can help people navigate and find relief from pain, both acute and chronic.
I work with clients who have anxiety and depression and extreme levels of stress from so many factors (pandemic, pain, infertility, chronic illness, etc)
I find deep satisfaction in helping oncology patients find energy, appetite, and emotional strength during their course of treatment.
And my great joy is that early morning text from a patient, sending me a photo of her positive pregnancy test. Even better? Getting to snuggle the babes after they're born. I'm a board certified Fellow of the ABORM, the governing body for reproductive medicine for acupuncturists.
