If you plant it, they will come. π¦
Monarch butterflies were once numerous, but they can only be common if the caterpillarsβ host plant, milkweed, is abundant.
Planting native milkweed on your property will benefit not only monarchs, but other important pollinators as well.
In addition to milkweed for the caterpillars, adult monarch butterflies need nectar, which they can also get from a variety of native wildflowers throughout the season.
Additional resources, including a list of native plant nurseries, can be found at https://bit.ly/BeldingSpecies
