βοΈπ DO'S & DON'TS FOR WINDOW AIR CONDITIONERS πβοΈ
When temperatures climb, your window air conditioner can help keep you and your family comfortable. π‘π But using it safely is just as important as staying cool!
Here are a few tips to help protect you, your family, and your neighbors this summer:
β
DO:
βοΈ Install your AC unit securely. A properly installed unit helps prevent it from falling and causing injury or property damage.
π Plug your AC directly into a wall outlet. Never use a power strip or extension cord, as they can overheat and create a fire hazard.
π§Ό Clean your unit regularly. Wipe down both the indoor and outdoor portions to keep it running efficiently.
π¬οΈ Replace or clean the filter. Check your owner's manual, but as a general rule, filters should be cleaned or replaced about every 3 months to improve airflow and indoor air quality.
π§ Check for leaks. Water collecting around your window or on carpeting can lead to mold growth and damage your home.
β DON'T:
π« Install an AC that isn't properly secured.
π« Plug your AC into a power strip or overload an electrical outlet.
π« Ignore water leaks or unusual noises.
π« Skip routine maintenance. A clean, well-maintained AC works better, uses less energy, and lasts longer.
β οΈ Important Reminder: Window air conditioners must be installed safely and securely. Improper installation may result in a fine, removal of the unit, and possible lease enforcement.
Let's work together to stay safe, comfortable, and cool all summer long! πβοΈβοΈ

ππ THAT'S THE SPIRIT! ππ
A huge THANK YOU to the incredible students from Grafton High School (official) who rolled up their sleeves in June and volunteered to help spruce up our WHA properties! π¨π‘
Our community is stronger because of people who are willing to give back, and the Gators certainly answered the call! ππͺ
Working alongside our Maintenance Team, these hardworking students tackled projects like applying fresh coats of paint where they were needed most, helping brighten our properties and make them even more welcoming for residents. ποΈβ¨
Their time, energy, and enthusiasm are a wonderful reminder that even a few hours of service can make a lasting impact. β€οΈ
π Thank you, Grafton High School, for demonstrating what community pride, teamwork, and volunteerism are all about. Your kindness did not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for your support!
Way to go!
