Strong Tower Ranch

This is Spirit, one of our two trusty ponies here at the Ranch. Spirit is a favorite, especially with the small campers, as his sweet and unassuming demeanor makes him very approachable to them.

This week, on Monday, June 15th, Spirit had a minimally invasive surgery to fix an ongoing stifle issue in his leg. This issue has progressed over several years, and it was time to make a change. Our amazing vet performed the surgery right here in our Barn, and have high hopes of success. This procedure is especially amazing because of its short recovery time!

For the veterinary fans, what was done was essentially a series of small incisions in the ligament fibers, creating a mesh of strong scar tissue. This will shorten and tighten the ligament. Recovery involves lots of pole work to strength the leg and hind end!

Now surgery is never cheap! We would love for some supporters to join us in providing for this necessary surgical procedure. Make sure you specify that the donation is for ‘Horse Care’, so that we know exactly what it is for.
