Rare 1760-1770 Single Aisle Dutch Barn.
Built by the family of Louis Bevier a French Huguenot that settled with the Dutch in the early 18th century. This 30x35 frame features a 4 bent 3 bay layout with all the anchors being swing beams. The largest being at 10x20x28’. The hand hewn rafters feature a rare collar tie beam system between each set. It seems to blend Dutch and English joinery.

This beautiful features a 100% hand hewn frame. 9x13 white oak ties, 4x5 white oak rafters, hewn white oak bracing and a 5 sided whites oak ridge beam. Originally constructed as a ground barn it was later reconstructed on a foundation and an additional interior bent added. The original end wall still remains and will be put back to its original place. Contact us for more info on this living relic and its incredible history during the revolutionary war.
