In tension calibration, small misalignments read as force error. A twisted string, an off-center thread, a clevis pin sitting against one side of its hole: the load cell can't tell the difference between that and real load.

Our latest blog covers how a self-aligning Tension Member Assembly removes that guesswork, the difference between TA-M and TA-F threaded adapters, and why surface finish matters as much as alignment on tension setups from 1 000 lbf to 1 200 000 lbf.

A recovering drug addict taught our CEO something every metrology company needs to hear: saying yes to the wrong customer can cost you more than time.

At a recent Vistage seminar, Michael Brody-Waite walked the room through a simple framework for finally saying no. Our CEO Henry Zumbrun ran his own decision through it. The result? He was spending about 50 hours a year chasing big ticket requests that weren't actually worth it. And the fear of saying no? Measured out to be 900% bigger than the actual risk.

In the lab, we never trust a gut feeling over a documented rule. We compare results against a guard band, every time. So why run a business on instinct when you wouldn't calibrate that way?

Turns out the same rigor that keeps measurements honest can keep your business decisions honest too.

With NCSLI coming up next month, we felt it was only fitting to share this cartoon 😀

If you are heading to the conference, be sure to check out Morehouse's training sessions. Whether you are looking to sharpen your measurement skills, dive deeper into force and torque calibration, or connect with fellow metrologists, we would love to see you there.
