With nearly 350,000 units sold last year, the saw a big sales growth in America and while its mechanical twin the Silverado still outsold it, together these two trucks sold over 925k units in the states! This week, we’ve been driving around in the 2026 equipped with the highly desirable 3.0L Turbo Diesel I-6 engine, one of the last half-ton trucks to still offer the oil burner option! While just showed off the fully redesigned for 2027, the current truck is still a handsome and solid choice. Under the hood, the engine makes a stout 305 HP and 495 lb-ft of torque! Hooked up to a 10-speed AT and full-time 4WD, this combo is good for an impressive 22/26 MPG and with its 24 gallon fuel tank, nearly 600 miles of range is quite possible on a full tank. We also clocked a respectable 0-60 MPH time in just 6.7 secs, making this truck about as quick as the 6.2L V8 we just tested in the Tahoe High Country!

The latest Sierra has been around since 2019 and it got a big refresh in 2023 that has aged extremely well. We’re hoping to get our hands on the redesigned 2027 model later this year, but it seems like GMC has made the new truck even more handsome looking. This Glacier White Tricoat color is a new option for 2026 and it pairs nicely with the 22” wheels that come standard with the Denali Ultimate package. The inside is covered in a full grain Ulpine Umber leather interior that looks luxurious and plush with real wood trim and the 13.4” screen is still a good size, but the new one has now moved to a larger 16.8” center screen with an available 11.5” passenger display. Pricing for the 2026 Sierra begins at just over $38k, but this fully loaded truck with heated/cooled and massaging front seats stickers for $86,790, but we imagine the dealer probably has some good deals to be had on this current truck to make room for the new version coming at the end of this year. Would you buy the current Sierra or wait for the new one?

A new generation usually means multiple trim levels for a wide variety of buyers and budgets and this week, we’ve been driving the adventure ready 2026 ! Unlike the previous , this new one takes its adventure mission more seriously as has given this it’s own style identity with unique front and rear bumpers, handsome 6-spoke 18” matte gray wheels on Dunlop A/T tires, an extra 0.4” of ground clearance for a total of 8.5”, raised roof rails with crossbars, and a standard 2” tow hitch and up to 3,500 lbs capacity. You can get the Woodland in either Hybrid or PHEV, we have the plug-in and it has the same powertrain from the spicy GR Sport, a 2.5L DOHC 4-cyl paired with 3-electric motors and a big 22.7 kWh battery pack good for 50 miles of pure electric range. It also makes a class leading 324 HP, while still achieving 41/34 MPG when the battery is depleted. Total range for this trailhead ready SUV is well over 550 miles on a full tank and charge!

In Sport mode and the pedal to the metal, we clocked a brisk 0-60 MPH sprint in just 5.38 secs! Making this car just 0.1 secs slower than the GR Sport we tested last month and about 1.5 secs quicker than the regular Hybrid drivetrain. If you leave it in pure electric mode, the motor produces about 201 HP alone, which results in a still respectable 0-60 MPH time in just 8.3 secs in EV mode. Unlike the GR Sport and SE, the Woodland has an upgraded 11 kWh on-board charger, so topping the battery off at a Level 2 takes only 2.5 hours, while a DC Fast Charge port allows for a 10-80% top off in 35 mins with a peak rate at 50 kW. Inside, the smaller 10.5” is standard, but you also get standard heated seats and steering wheel, 360 degree camera, power liftgate, wireless charger, and Toyota’s digital key system. Base RAV4 pricing begins at $31,900, but the Woodland will cost at least $39,900. Upgrading to the PHEV will cost you $45,300 and our test vehicle in Urban Rock with the optional sunroof and ARB roof basket rang up at $49,130. Keep in mind, if you stick with the regular Hybrid, you’ll save about $5,400 off that price.

We finally got our hands on the latest for a week and the first-ever is definitely worth the upgrade over the base V6 engine. Our test car is the fully loaded and brings the heat to the segment with a brand-new powertrain that’ll likely show up in a Genesis product soon. The base V6 is replaced with a 2.5L DOHC turbo GDI 4-Cyl paired with 2-electric motors with a 1.65 kWh battery pack providing it juice. A 6-speed AT sends power to all-four wheels and the total output here is 329 HP and 339 lb-ft of torque. In Sport mode, our best 0-60 MPH time was 6.3 secs, a big improvement over the 7.9 secs we got in the last V6 Palisade Calligraphy. That time puts it right in-between the 5.9 and 7.45 secs we got in the Hybrid Max and Hybrid engines from the Grand Highlander. Fuel economy is rated at 29/30 MPG, and we got 29 MPG exactly on mostly city driving, making this car about 10 MPG better in city efficiency vs the V6. Range is easily over 500 miles with its 18.2 gallon fuel tank.

The new Palisade is still quite the looker and the Calligraphy trim brings Genesis-like levels of luxury and technology. Painted in Classy Blue Pearl with the Brown Napa leather interior, this car shouts a much more luxurious aura versus most of its rivals, while the inside provides all the space and technology you could want, with heated/cooled front and rear seats, heated 3rd row seats, dual sunroofs, built-in dash cams, 360 degree cameras w/ remote park assist, and a massaging driver’s seat. Pricing for the Hybrid begins at $44,160 for the base SEL trim, but the Calligraphy will cost you at least $57k. With AWD and some light extras, our test car rang up at $60,625, or about a $2,200 premium versus the base V6, making the Hybrid worth every penny with its big fuel savings and extra power.
