One of the things that makes Emerald Pointe RV Resort so unique is that we are not a one size fits all community. With 304 deeded lots in our gated 55+ resort, buyers have several different ownership options depending on how they want to enjoy Florida living.

At Emerald Pointe, we have 5 different lot types, each offering its own style, setup, and lifestyle.

✨ 1. RV Anything Lots
These are back-in RV lots that can accommodate a variety of RV types, including Class A, Super C, Fifth Wheel, Class C, Travel Trailer, and Class B RVs must be at least 24 ft long and in good condition.

Structures on these lots vary by property and may include a shed, casita, lanai, or vacant lot setup. These lots are a great option for owners who want flexibility in the type of RV they bring while still enjoying the benefits of deeded lot ownership.

✨ 2. Class A Motorcoach Lots
These back-in lots are located in our exclusive section designed specifically for Class A motorhomes.

They are ideal for motorcoach owners looking for a deeded lot in a beautiful, established 55+ community. Structures on each lot vary and may include a shed, casita, lanai, or vacant lot setup, depending on the individual property.

✨ 3. Park Model Lots
Park model lots are perfect for those who love the RV lifestyle but want something more permanent.

Park models offer more of a resort home feel with no hitching up, no tanks to monitor, and no moving from site to site. On lots with existing park models, RVs and trailers are not allowed because the park model itself is considered an RV.

Many park models at Emerald Pointe have large additions, creating comfortable living spaces with 1–2 bedrooms and multiple bathroom layouts, depending on the property.

✨ 4. RV Port Lots
RV Port lots are back-in lots located along the perimeter of the resort, which means no backyard neighbors.

These lots offer covered RV parking and may also include additional living space, storage, or screened entertaining areas. Designed to accommodate a variety of RV types, including Class A, Super C, Fifth Wheel, Class C, Travel Trailer, and Class B RVs must be at least 24 ft long and in good condition

Our cottages offer a more traditional home feel while still keeping the RV lifestyle close.

These properties feature fully enclosed RV parking that can accommodate up to a 42 ft RV, along with spacious living areas. Cottages typically offer 2–3 bedrooms and 2+ bathrooms, making them one of the most residential-style options within Emerald Pointe.

At Emerald Pointe, you are not renting a space, you own your lot. That means no lot rent, low monthly HOA fees$125/month, and the ability to enjoy the resort lifestyle in a friendly, gated 55+ community.

I recently came across a YouTube video from America on Wheels where they ranked what they consider the “15 Worst RV Purchases.”

⚠️ Important disclaimer: I did NOT create this list, and this is NOT Emerald Pointe’s opinion. This is simply one person/channel’s take based on their research, owner complaints, depreciation concerns, and reported issues.

As many of us know… RV owners are some of the most knowledgeable people out there, and sometimes the best information comes from those who have actually owned, traveled, repaired, and lived with these coaches. 👏

So I thought this would be a fun discussion:

🤔 Do you agree with their list?
🤔 Did they get it wrong?
🤔 Have you owned one of these and had a completely different experience?

Here is the list from the video:

#15 🚐 Thor Motor Coach Four Winds
Claimed concerns:
• Entry-level construction
• Cabinet/material quality
• Slide and seal issues
• Warranty frustrations

Reality check:
The Ford chassis underneath is generally well respected. Many complaints focus more on the “house” portion than the drivetrain.

#14 🚐 Coachmen Freelander
Claimed concerns:
• Roof maintenance issues
• Water intrusion concerns
• Slide seals

Reality check:
Like many Class C coaches, long-term condition often depends heavily on maintenance and storage.

#13 🚐 Winnebago Minnie Winnie (2015–2020)
Claimed concerns:
• Cabover leaks
• Delamination concerns
• Furnace issues

Reality check:
This one surprised many because Winnebago has historically had a strong reputation. Always inspect by year and condition.

#12 🚐 Jayco Redhawk
Claimed concerns:
• Cabinet issues
• Slide seals
• Water leaks

Reality check:
Many of these concerns are common across entry-level Class C motorhomes.

#11 🚐 Forest River Georgetown
Claimed concerns:
• Roof issues
• Slide systems
• Depreciation

Reality check:
A good inspection can make a huge difference when buying any used Class A.

#10 🚐 Fleetwood Bounder (2010–2018)
Claimed concerns:
• Post-bankruptcy quality changes
• Slide motors
• Water intrusion

Reality check:
Older Bounders have a very loyal following, so year and maintenance history matter.

#9 🚐 Tiffin Allegro Bus (2012–2016)
Claimed concerns:
• Slide seals
• Suspension repairs

Reality check:
This was one of the more controversial picks because Tiffin has long been considered a premium manufacturer.

#8 🚐 Holiday Rambler Endeavor
Claimed concerns:
• Electrical problems
• Parts/support concerns

Reality check:
Different ownership eras matter a lot with Holiday Rambler.

#7 🚐 Newmar Dutch Star (2013–2017)
Claimed concerns:
• Slide floor issues

Reality check:
Another controversial choice. Many consider Dutch Star one of the premier diesel pushers on the road.

#6 🚐 Monaco Dynasty (2006–2009)
Claimed concerns:
• Parts availability after Monaco bankruptcy
• Aging systems

Reality check:
Many RV enthusiasts would strongly debate this one. Monaco built some incredibly solid luxury diesel coaches during this era. Maintenance history may matter more than the badge.

#5 🚐 Tiffin Phaeton (2018–2022)
Claimed concerns:
• Full-wall slide problems

Reality check:
Large slides are complex on many brands, but Tiffin still has many loyal owners.

#4 🚐 Entegra Aspire (2019–2022)
Claimed concerns:
• Technology/control system failures

Reality check:
Modern luxury coaches offer amazing features, but more technology can mean more expensive repairs.

#3 🚐 Nexus Viper (2016–2020)
Claimed concerns:
• Tank mounting
• Generator access
• Resale value

#2 🚐 American Coach American Eagle (2007–2013)
Claimed concerns:
• Parts availability
• Aqua-Hot repairs
• Slide systems

Reality check:
Many older luxury diesel pushers were extremely well built. Support and maintenance are the bigger questions.

#1 🚐 Grand Design Momentum Toy Hauler (2020–2024)
Claimed concerns:
• Ramp system
• Frame stress
• Fuel station issues

Reality check:
This is a 5th wheel so interesting it is on a Motorhome list.......This one created debate because Grand Design has a very loyal customer base and a strong reputation with many owners.
