Here is our "SALAD LOVING GROUP"!
First trip to our Community and The Inn at Halona.
San Juan Basin Archeological Society, 18 of them. Great people AND they did finish our large bowl of salad (fresh, leafy greens, cherry tomatoes, artichoke quarters, a little extra seasoning) at supper last night (which was anchored by "Famous Halona Chicken", as they put it); this does not happen too often!

One of those mornings... Lots of Guests for breakfast and our kitchen at Halona Restaurant's gas line had sprung a leak!
Could not delay breakfast though: our valiant Ladies sprung up to the emergency and proceeded to fix breakfast "The Old Way" (i.e. pre-covid) at the Inn's Main Building' Kitchen. A taste of the past: it remains amazing that we were even able to prepare breakfasts in such a small space for many years.
As for repairing our main kitchen's gas line, Maintenance Man Tim also jumped to the occasion and got it all done promptly!
Whattateam!
And, we are getting into a nice period of the year: more Guests, ALL interesting folks, with stories to go. On attached photo: Lady on the left is celebrating her 92th birthday; she has become another hero of mine. Lady in the right is of French origin. Folks at further table are geologists: they really wanted to make it to the Inn despite having encountered serious car troubles en route.
Life's good at the Inn at Halona AND we all make sure it remains that way for our Guests as well, starting with heartfelt welcome from our Office upon arrival!
My philosophy is that "We are the FIRST people Guests encounter in the Community and most often the LAST people to bid them farewell when they leave".

Spring upon us? Feels that way while winter has not been cold or wet at all (some rain sorely needed now though!)
In any case, this morning's pool of Guests in our arguably beautiful & airy dining room for breakfast looks very diverse and most welcome in any case!
In the attached photo, Italian Guests at the far right table, busy with their breakfasts (and totally gushing about their stay in Zuni and the Inn at Halona!); group of youngsters & their instructors from a Montessori school in California in the middle area - interestingly, they all speak several languages and make it a point of picking one of them for each day's group interactions; dearest Yume at the top far left - she comes from Japan several times each year to pick up orders for her shop in Tokyo (folks, and especially craftspeople in Zuni, LOVE her!); delightful Liz at near far left, on a returning visit after MANY years - she was so HAPPY to be with us again that she lingered appreciatively alone at the table following breakfast (Note: she is the early Guest at the Inn at Halona who coined the BEST description for Room 4, i.e. "The Tree House"!)
