PRESS RELEASE

LANDSCAPER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

On July 3, 2026, police arrested and charged T-Shani Haynes, a 39-year-old landscaper of Calliaqua, with the offence of assault.

According to investigations, the accused assaulted, a 43-year-old domestic of Questelles/Calliaqua, by striking her on the right side of her face with his hand, causing actual bodily harm.

The offence was committed in Calliaqua on April 1, 2026. Haynes was granted station bail in the sum of $1,500.00 ECC with one surety. He is expected to appear before the Biabou Magistrate's Court on July 8, 2026, to answer the charge.

LABOURER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

On July 4, 2026, police arrested and charged Gamal Creese, a 34-year-old labourer of Chateaubelair, with the offence of assault.
According to investigations, the accused assaulted a 69-year-old farmer of Rose Hall by beating him about his body with his hands, causing actual bodily harm.

The offence was committed in Chateaubelair. Creese was granted station bail in the sum of $2,500.00 ECC with one surety. He is expected to appear before the Chateaubelair Magistrate's Court on July 15, 2026, to answer the charge.

GEORGETOWN RESDENT CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF AN ILLEGAL FIREARM, AND POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION.

On July 5, 2026, police arrested and charged Devorn Baptiste, a 35-year-old resident of Georgetown, with the offences of possession of an illegal firearm and possession of ammunition.

According to investigations, the accused had in his possession one (1) 9mm semi-automatic pistol, make and serial number unknown, without a licence issued under the Fi****ms Act.
He was also charged with having in his possession eight (8.) rounds of 9mm ammunition without a licence issued under the Fi****ms Act.

The offences were committed in Arnos Vale on July 4, 2026. Baptiste is expected to appear before the Serious Offences Court to answer the charges.

FARMER CHARGED WITH WOUNDING

On July 5, 2026, police arrested and charged Winston James, a 57-year-old farmer of Georgetown, with the offence of wounding.
According to investigations, the accused unlawfully and maliciously wounded a 22-year-old labourer of Overland by cutting him on the chest and left foot with a knife.

The offence was committed in Chilli Village, Georgetown, on April 12, 2026. James was granted station bail in the sum of $2,500.00 ECC with one surety. He is expected to appear before the Georgetown Magistrate's Court on July 9, 2026, to answer the charge.

LABOURER CHARGED WITH BURGLARY

On July 5, 2026, police arrested and charged Oscar Charles, a 45-year-old labourer of Georgetown, with the offence of burglary.

According to investigations, the accused entered the storeroom of a supermarket in Georgetown as a trespasser and stole thirteen (13) pounds of chicken backs valued at $32.50 ECC, the property of a supermarket in Georgetown.

The offence was committed between 6:00 p.m. on June 11, 2026, and 7:30 a.m. on June 12, 2026. Charles is expected to appear before the Kingstown Magistrate's Court on July 9, 2026, to answer the charge.

A wallet containing personal documents and a bank card belonging to Mr. Devin C. Woods has been handed in at the Central Police Station.

Mr. Woods is asked to visit the Central Police Station to verify ownership and collect the items.
