Hiking on the island of Bequia.
After several sunset beers and meals at the various restaurants along the beachfront it was time to try a strenuous hike to the highest point on the island Mount Peggy. Here are some photos:

After St Anne we sailed north, past the daunting Diamond Rock (which was used as a fortress in days gone by) to the bay of St Pierre under the massive dormant volcano called Mount Pelée. This is a pretty town with a history of volcanic destruction (in 1902)
The next leg of the journey was across the gap between Martinique and the island of Dominica. Then an overnight stop at Mero on the west coast of Dominica followed by a moderately short crossing to the quaint islands of Les Saintes.
A week in Les Saintes to allow the bad weather to subside and now we are at anchor in the bay of Anse de Mays on Marie Galante. Swimming in shallow water beside the forested beach..

Martinique the well organized island of France. Governed and supported by the mother country it is wealthy and clean compared to other islands in the region. We like coming here for the food and shops.
Although we are also getting some warranty repairs done since this is a Beneteau, Lagoon and Excess center, the only one in the Caribbean.

From Carriacou we sailed up to the island of Bequia. It took about 7 hours of close hauled sailing.
Bequia is a lovely island with the very large sheltered Admiralty Bay with a selection of interesting restaurants and bars ashore.
We waited for some nasty weather to subside then continued towards St Lucia, stopping in St Vincent to break the long journey before arriving in Rodney Bay.
Now we chill until it’s time to move north again. Caribbean life takes getting used to.😆

After some heavy rain, then a rainbow, followed by a final sunset in Tyrell Bay we are now at Sandy Island in a couple of meters depth admiring that sometimes elusive turquoise water.! Now it’s time to go swimming and look for turtles and rays..😋
